Llengua i escola a les Illes Balears: una mirada des de la justícia social i pedagògica
Language and schools in the Balearic Islands: from the perspective of social and pedagogical justice
Els debats sobre el model lingüístic escolar a les Illes Balears són recurrents, especialment d’ençà del projecte trilingüe que proposà el Govern del Partit Popular durant la legislatura 2011-2015. Així, en aquest article es reflexiona sobre el model de conjunció lingüística i s’analitza el paper que té l’escola en el procés de normalització de la llengua, per a la qual cosa es descriu breument la situació sociolingüística i s’examina la normativa vigent relacionada amb el model lingüístic de l’escola.

Abstract (English):
The debates on the linguistic model for schools in the Balearic Islands have been recurrent, especially since the trilingual project proposed by the Popular Party government during the 2011–2015 legislature.Thus, in this article, we reflect on the linguistic conjunction model and analyse the role of schools in the process of linguistic revitalisation.To that end, we briefly describe the sociolinguistic situation and examine the current regulations related to the linguistic model in schools.
